Video Update: Women can get different forms of HRT from Pharmacies without a new prescription
Good news on the HRT supply crisis. Over the weekend the Government has issued a SSP (Serious Supply Protocol) to enable Pharmacists to be able to dispense at the point of need, an alternative to a HRT medication if it is out of stock. Currently many gels and sprays are in seriously short supply, so women will now be able to discuss the options and alternatives to their current type of HRT if it is not available, and come away an interim alternative for example patches or tablets, without having to go back to their GP’s for a new prescription.
