Fiona McKay’s surgical menopause featured in The Big Health Story in Pick Me Up Magazine
In this article I write just what it was like to deal with the reality of a total abdominal hysterectomy and how I wasn’t anywhere near like prepared for the tsunami of symptoms that surgical menopause brought with it. Yes, I was a ‘Hot Mess’ but that was only the start of it.
This is by far the most I have shared about surgical menopause, what happened and how ill prepared I was to deal with it. Plus, I was only 42 years of age at the time, and my peer group were not experiencing menopause, and in addition, I am the Managing Director of two very successful businesses and most of my clients were global male CEO’s, so sharing my symptoms just wasn’t an option.
I urge every women and man to read this article - its the reality of what happens when women go through early and surgically induced menopause. and its much more severe than the natural menopause.
